Our Curriculum

Our school curriculum encompasses Literacy, Numeracy, ICT, Science, RE, and the full range of National subjects.

We are particularly proud of the ‘Basic Skills’
Award we achieved, demonstrating our excellent
teaching in these areas. As a Literacy Host School
with a Literacy Consultant and a Literacy
mentor Headteacher this is clearly one of our strengths.

There is also special pride in the breadth and
balance offered to our pupils in areas
encompassing preparation for adult life and
Creativity/Cultural areas-Citizenship, PSHE,
Spiritural, Moral and Social Education, Creative and
Cultural studies, Financial Capability and
Enterprise.

We aim to develop the full potential of all our
pupils in terms of their individual self-expression,
talent, self-confidence and self-esteem.

Our behaviour management approaches aim to
develop in our pupils a sense of self-discipline and
and an acceptence of responsibility for their own
actions creating an orderly community within
which effective learning can take place.

We enforce the good behaviour examples through
our rewards system and our celebrations of
success.

We also take a pro-active stance against bullying or
racist incidents and create a ‘tell someone’ climate
to such incidents.
